I’ve just finished The Gyre after a few stops and starts. I’m so glad I went back to it. What I loved was the different levels of emotional engagement I felt at different points and how my emotional responses ebbed and flowed throughout, depending on what I had been feeling before listening or by the music or a hook within the narrative that really resonated. The Narrator’s voice is mesmerising and you are immediately immersed and become invested in the narrative and what happens to all the characters in this gripping tale. I’m not usually a fan of science fiction but this is very relevant and needs to be heard. When I close my eyes to listen, the imagery floods into my head and is very vividly played out in my own imagination. The Gyre is a great Podcast and would make a terrific film.
