  • Golden State Naturalist

Michelle Fullner completely rips off Alie Ward and her groundbreaking podcast, Ologies. Right down to the editing minutia, gags, tone of voice, marketing strategies, etc. Just another media savvy, entrepreneurial millennial trying to be seen/heard and make a buck off others hard work in the studio and in the field.. and the same overdone nature topics.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Symbiotic Cities with Kat Superfisky
Q: Cassandra wants to know your thoughts on Miyawaki forests. What are your thoughts on Miyawaki forests?
Miyawaki forests are a great intervention for bringing biodiversity, but they need to be adapted to local conditions in Los Angeles. It's essential to find the right species for our Mediterranean climate and ensure they are utilized effectively.
Symbiotic Cities with Kat Superfisky
Q: Can you describe a little bit more for people who are maybe not familiar with the term or your job description?
As an urban ecologist, I look at the ecological and environmental processes in an urban ecosystem, including both plants and animals, as well as human communities. My job is to balance all of these interactions and find solutions that benefit both humans and wildlife.
Torrey Pines with Jon Rebman
Q: Are saplings or propagation used for conservation?
They are definitely reproducing on their own in the habitat, but climate change impacts threaten their survival against pests like bark beetles.
Torrey Pines with Jon Rebman
Q: What is the historic range of the Torrey Pines?
It wasn't really humans that contracted their range; the range is roughly the same as it is now, although it's believed that the Torrey Pine forests were more dense.
Fire in Built Environments (Special Episode: LA Fires) with Alexandra Syphard
Q: What can residents do to make their homes safer from wildfires?
Implementing defensible space around homes, minimizing vegetation near structures, and maintaining fire-resistant landscaping contribute significantly to safety.
