Wayne, Kyle, and Joni continue their conversation about patriarchy, moving from cultural systems and religious interpretations into the deeper ways those ideas shape how men and women see God, themselves, and each other. From reactions to The Shack p... more

I am so thankful for this message. This IS truly the good news!
Oh, I am so deeply thankful for these podcasts. They have made a huge difference in my life and moved me closer to knowing God and receiving his love. I have been in church and religious communities all my life, been a youth pastor at a mega church, led worship, and been part of many overseas ministries and mission trips… Yet all of that has been a small and growing part of my journey. Other than my experiences with Church of the Open Door in Minnesota, I have never really understood the love an... more
Interesting, thought provoking, challenging… I love the emphasis on it being the God journey, not just about what I’m doing. I do find it somewhat offensive though that Wayne uses
the term “ Oh my gosh” so freely. Does he realize this is just another way of saying “ Oh my God”?
As a former Pastor who’s marriage almost fell apart years ago I have read Wayne’s books and listened to his podcasts off and on for years. On many occasions (some of them dark times) he has helped step back and realize I’m decorating my prison when I should be breaking out. (Loved that episode). Thank you and to your co hosts over the years. May our loving father always bless you and yours.
That’s what I FINALLY understood when all the performance based activities were allowed to fall away and let me just sit with a couple of brothers in the fellowship hall back when I was first introduced to you and Brad when the podcast was first started up. It has been a true gift to my daily walk with Father!
I have since launched my own podcast and your podcast was a big influence on how I wish to approach it from a stylistic/flow “ever expanding conversations” Thank you for all you do!

Two hosts share a long-running, relational approach to spirituality that centers on living in love rather than performing for religious systems. Episodes routinely explore topics like justice, trauma, healing, and the tension between institutional religion and a more intimate, Father‑loving faith. A distinctive thread is the emphasis on authentic relationship, mutual care, and a hopeful vision for leadership and community that prioritizes life-giving presence over tradition or fame. The show often blends personal storytelling with practical spiritual guidance, and it's noted for a warm, conversational tone and a willingness to question entrenched church dynamics. This combination likely appeals to listeners seeking grace-based spirituality,... more
