  • Appaling

As a prosthodontist, I’ve listened to the first 3 episodes of this podcast and cannot listen to more. A couple of young, arrogant dentists, doing all-on-4 implant treatments for monetary gain, without once talking about the latest evidence to their treatment protocols. One of them goes as far as saying he chooses speed because he doesn’t even like dentistry. They’ve looked down at bone grafting, sinus lifts, and all-on-4 procedures being done by experts such as OMFS and prosthodontics specialist... more

  • Absolute Gem

Couldn’t ask for a better podcast to deliver a weekly state of the union on all topics implantology. Every single episode is riddled with clinical gems from Dr. Tolbert and Dr. Paape as well as the wide array of experts they bring on as guests. I feel like every episode I listen to has something I can adopt into my practice to improve the quality and/or efficiency of the care I provide. If you are currently doing full arch or are planning on it; this is the one.

  • Exactly the Conversations I needed to hear

I’ve been a long time SP listener and caught wind of Dr. Tolbert a few times. When I heard about his journey into full arch fixed as a GP, I knew it was possible. This podcast has already helped shaped my path forward in the months to come!

Dr. Alex Sharp on the DSO Doom Cycle
Q: What advice would you give to doctors considering joining a DSO or starting a practice focused on implants/full-arch dentistry?
Embrace specialization, build a experiences-driven patient journey, slow down to understand patient needs, and adopt a cost-controlled, consistent operating system across practices to sustain profitability and avoid the 'race to the bottom' in pricing.
Dr. Alex Sharp on the DSO Doom Cycle
Q: What were the key takeaways from the leadership conference you attended?
The main takeaways were that the DSO space has energy again after a period of overpay and underperformance, that many top DSOs are navigating debt risk, and that differentiating through specialization and better operational discipline is critical for sustainable growth.
Part 2: Tissue is the issue with Dr. Tomasz Kaczynski
Q: When does intervention come into play?
I monitor for inflammation and intervene with grafting only if problems escalate despite good hygiene.
Part 2: Tissue is the issue with Dr. Tomasz Kaczynski
Q: Where do you see PRF playing a part in your practice?
I am not a big PRF user; I find other techniques more effective but acknowledge its benefits.
Part 2: Tissue is the issue with Dr. Tomasz Kaczynski
Q: Any just general suturing philosophies that you have?
I prefer continuous sutures for speed, beginning with horizontal mattress sutures for midline control.
