  • Is this the best footy podcast?

Probably not, but to be fair the best footy podcast doesn’t exist. If it did I’d be getting paid to listen to myself talk about Carlton.

Enough about me though, this is a really genuine podcast that I love listening to every week.

Damo and Clarky are two of the good guys.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Draws & Ribcages (Round 10) with Patch
Q: First question from Wayne about cheapies and long-term rookies—what should I be prioritizing this week?
Prioritize improving your team with the best available players and avoid forcing a rookie downgrade if it doesn't clearly help, especially when rookies offer uncertain job security; consider upgrading to a higher-quality player if it strengthens your overall lineup.
Revitalised & Rejuvenated (Round 7) with SuperCouch Potato
Q: Which rookies should be traded this week and which should be held?
The panel emphasizes prioritizing rookies that are out or have strong immediate value, while cautioning against trading away key on-field rookies unless a clear upgrade is available; Sardis is highlighted as a strong trade-in option alongside potential deals involving Robertson and Jagger, depending on team structure.
The Wrong Roberts (Round 6)
Q: What mid or forward rookie on the bubble would you recommend, and should I wait until next week given SuperCoach 2026 volatility?
Tom Edwards stood out as the most promising option among the mentioned bubble players due to job security and role, though costs and return on investment depend on long-term keeper potential; others like Gulbin, Hannaford, and Fawcett were noted but Edwards held the clearest path to value this week.
Gawn Supremacy (Round 5) with MiniMonk
Q: Is Farrow a must-have and what about Oscar Steen's job security?
The panel consensus is that Farrow is essential for cash generation and lineup flexibility, while Steen offers a lower-risk rookie option with a potential for consistent scores if he's slotted as UR3 with occasional rest.
Timfestation (Round 4) with RookieCoach
Q: What do you make of McCurch and LDU's roles, and is there value in targeting mid-pricers like Windsor or Sherry to fix your team around the mid-season buys?
They emphasize caution with McCurch as a potential end-of-year D56 option, advocate considering LDU's stable midfield role, and suggest using rookies like Sherry to unlock cash and enable upgrades to mid-tier premiums.
