  • Mezmerizing, soothing, suprising and full of love

I could listen to ReRe talk about crochet all day. She keeps giving new perspectives on this craft that are so surprising and fun. You can really tell how much passion and love she has for crochet and it translates to the podcast. Plus her voice is so pleasant and warm. Even if you don‘t crochet - this is a good remedy in these crazy times to balance all the noise (and maybe start a new hobby). Full recommendation.

Weight A Minute: An Exploration of Yarn Weights and Whys | Ep. 11
Q: Do I personally swatch?
Only when I'm making a garment.
Weight A Minute: An Exploration of Yarn Weights and Whys | Ep. 11
Q: I found a cone labeled NM 3.5. Can you help?
So we're looking at Newton meters. So that's about 3.5 meters per gram. Convert to tex, which is approximately 285 tex, placing it in the decay to Worsted neighborhood.
Weight A Minute: An Exploration of Yarn Weights and Whys | Ep. 11
Q: Is there a universal best weight for crochet?
The best weight is the one that gives you the fabric you want. Crochet loves a range from fingering lace doilies to bulky throws.
Weight A Minute: An Exploration of Yarn Weights and Whys | Ep. 11
Q: Why do some patterns specify both a weight and a WPI?
Because weight bands overlap. WPI helps narrow it down when you're stash diving or shopping internationally.
Acrylic Yarn: Superhero or Super Villain? | Ep. 10
Q: Can you kill acrylic for drape?
Yes, you can manipulate the fiber carefully with steam and heat, but it's a one-way trip; testing on a swatch is recommended.
