  • Engaging!

Many environmental podcasts can be a little dry. Not The Environmental Transformation Podcast. Even with seemingly “borning” topics such as Why get your CHMM? Interviewing passionate experts and pin-point engaging questions results in a podcast that flows well and keeps me interested. Add to that, topics like the PGA’s environmental initiatives and this podcast is a true hit!

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Rohail Khan on Closing C-Suite Deals and Beating the No Decision Trap
Q: What's the single biggest preparation mistake you see sales teams make when they finally get that meeting with the C-suite?
They talk about themselves and their product instead of engaging around why they are in the room, focusing on the executive's drivers, performance, and risk, which leads to a missed connection and a lack of urgency.
Implementing safe drinking water policy for PFAS & Lead Pipes - Alan Roberson, Director of the ASDWA
Q: What is ASDWA's position on the EPA PFAS rule changes and the timeline for compliance?
ASDWA is working toward a concrete, implementable position that supports longer timelines where needed, while acknowledging public health protection. They are considering how to balance stricter timelines with the realities of financing, testing capacity, and state readiness, and plan to gather state feedback before the rule is proposed.
Robert Bilott on PFAS, Dark Waters and Fighting Forever Chemicals
Q: How did this issue evolve from a local problem to a national and global concern?
It started with a farmer and a small community, but as more documents were uncovered and the health impacts became clearer, the scope expanded. The effort required long years of litigation, media outreach, and collaboration with scientists to prove the pervasive nature and consequences of PFAS contamination.
Inside CHEMTREC: Chemical Emergency Management Support for First Responders and Shippers
Q: What kinds of services does Chemtrec offer beyond emergency response numbers, SDS authoring, and regulatory updates?
Chemtrec offers training (49 CFR, HazCom, IOTA), bespoke customer training, online refresher courses, remediation coordination, and reporting support, providing end-to-end support across incident management and compliance.
Inside CHEMTREC: Chemical Emergency Management Support for First Responders and Shippers
Q: Walk us through what the first couple of minutes look like in the Emergency Operations Center when a call comes in.
The team prioritizes life safety, rapidly triages to collect essential details about the incident, and then determines whether to provide guidance, isolation distances, or to engage with remediation partners, while considering the caller's experience and location.
