Thomas Nagy & Paul Meenan Discuss Time Management & Delegation
Q: How do you approach delegation when you don't yet trust someone with a critical task?
Be persistent, empower the right people, and start with repeatable tasks that don't jeopardize safety or quality, gradually expanding responsibilities as confidence grows.
Thomas Nagy & Paul Meenan Discuss Time Management & Delegation
Q: What has been your biggest time drain in a typical workday?
For me, dealing with other people's lack of organization and constant interruptions drives the most time loss, which is why I rely on clear planning and a few trusted tools to stay on track.
Jamie Blatant (Actual Electrical Content) Shares His Thoughts On Training
Q: What is the most damaging and inherently wrong approach to training options currently?
The most damaging trend is money-driven decision-making across organizations, where short-term financial concerns override long-term skill development, leading to a lack of accountability and a failure to invest in meaningful, long-form training and competency.
Jamie Blatant (Actual Electrical Content) Shares His Thoughts On Training
Q: Jamie, what is your thought on the overall approach to training in the electrical sector at this time?
He believes the approach is bleak due to financial pressures, with training often reduced to short courses and the time-honored four-year apprenticeship being shortened; he advocates for the traditional lengthy, hands-on master-apprentice model where craftsmanship is earned through time and mastery, not simply through certification.
Ignoring This Could End Your Business!
Q: How do you recommend handling relationships with insurance brokers?
Start with your broker, as they represent your business to find the best insurance deal suited to your needs.
