  • Standout Show for Dads!

If you're a dad raising daughters, this podcast is a must-listen. Oscar Pena has created something special—conversations that go beyond surface-level parenting advice to explore the real psychology of raising confident, resilient girls. As a psychologist who was recently a guest on the show, I was struck by how Oscar's warmth and thoughtful preparation create space for the kind of nuanced discussions that actually help parents. He asks the questions dedicated dads are thinking about but might no... more

  • Great show, great host!

I love what Oscar is doing with his podcast and his movement. I have had him on two of my shows and it was an honor to be able to be a guest on his show this time. He was fully loaded and ready with questions and obviously did his homework. Telling my stories about family court and trying to remain relevant in my daughter's life is always difficult. Oscar made it easy. If you are a girl-dad, this podcast is a must-listen.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Resilience and Faith: A Father's Tale w/ Ryan Reichert
Q: What would you leave listeners with from your experience as a daughtered father?
Embrace faith, hope, and love as guiding principles; accept that highs and lows will come, but you can be present today, rest when needed, and trust that everyday acts of care build lasting relationships with your daughters.
Finding Strength and Wisdom in Fatherhood: A Conversation with Tracy Brinkmann
Q: Talk to me about your journey, man. Talk to me about some background for you, when your daughters came in, and where you were mentally in those times when your daughters came to your life.
Tracy shares his early life, the birth of his daughters, and the trials that shaped him—from addiction and custody battles to stepping up as a father and partner. He highlights learning to balance work, family, and personal responsibility, and how hard experiences led him to journal, set intentions, and become more present and purposeful.
How to Stay Connected with Your Teen Daughter Through Communication, Respect & Boundaries w/ Jeanine Mouchawar
Q: What changed in your parenting approach as your daughter entered the teenage years?
We moved from reward/punishment toward understanding the underlying emotions and skills our kids needed, focusing on communication, collaboration, and boundaries while staying empathetic and non-judgmental.
Can Fathers Impact Daughters' Eating Habits More Than We Think? A Conversation w/ Jessica Setnick
Q: What practical steps can fathers take to avoid turning meals into battles while supporting healthy eating?
Use smaller portions, ask questions rather than lecturing, label meals with life-skill language (fuel, energy, growth), and focus on listening to the child's body signals rather than insisting on a specific amount. Create dessert opportunities strategically and discuss food at non-meal times to reduce pressure.
Leadership Lessons Every Girl Dad Needs w/ Chip Scholz
Q: How has woodworking and the metaphor of 'forcing the cut' informed your parenting approach?
He describes how forcing the cut is counterproductive with people, especially teenagers; space and listening are key. Each daughter is different, so leadership must be tailored, with patience and space to grow rather than applying a uniform approach.
