  • Reading from a script doesn’t work !

Listening to the podcast about European group B rally cars was painful . Clearly no knowledge, little fact finding beforehand and the pronunciation of the models was woeful . Clearing reading from a script didn’t help in any way.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

421: Driving the Future of Car Culture with RPM Foundation and Nick Ellis
Q: How does the Endangered Skills Program work and why is it important?
The Endangered Skills Program records the teaching process where a master demonstrates a disappearing skill to an apprentice, preserving both the hands-on technique and the instructional method so that future generations can learn. This aims to prevent the loss of critical restoration capabilities as veteran craftsmen retire.
421: Driving the Future of Car Culture with RPM Foundation and Nick Ellis
Q: What does the RPM Foundation do, and how can someone get involved as a student?
RPM Foundation focuses on restoration, preservation, and mentorship, with a shift from grant funding to direct workforce development through an apprenticeship program that is now Department of Labor approved. Interested students should visit rpm.foundation, submit an inquiry, and the foundation will connect them with a host shop for apprenticeship opportunities after preparing them in resume and interview skills.
419: Air-Cooled Icons Reborn with Peter Nam of Gunther Werks
Q: What is your favorite stock, not modified, 993, among the classics?
My favorite stock 993 is the 993RS, followed closely by the 993GT2, both beloved for their design and performance, and I appreciate how they embody the era's engineering without modification.
419: Air-Cooled Icons Reborn with Peter Nam of Gunther Werks
Q: You mentioned a Keep, Cash and Crush game with three Porsches. Which one would you keep, which would you cash, and which would you crush?
I would crush the 1967 911 with the wrong engine because it's a Frankenstein build, cash in the 1979-930 Turbo for being less desirable in the moment, and keep the 1996 GT3 because it was the first GT3 and has a unique personality with its distinct headlights and the legacy of the 996 generation.
417: Dream Corvettes, Smart Coverage, and Keep Cash or Crush with Adam Boca of NCM Insurance
Q: What is NCM Insurance and how did it start?
NCM Insurance grew out of the National Corvette Museum's demand for an in-house insurance option and expanded to cover not just Corvettes but other collector vehicles, driven by the museum's leadership and a vision to create a sustainable revenue stream.
