  • Informative and Engaging

I found the conversation with John Guaspari to be very informative and engaging—which stands to reason, since Guaspari is an expert when it comes to the topic of engagement. He offered clear, straightforward advice as to how a leader can achieve higher levels of employee engagement, and it was mercifully clear of cant and cliche. The host, Rahul Karan Sharma, deserves high marks for inviting such a knowledgeable guest and so expertly guiding the conversation. Well done!

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

The Be. Do. Have. Formula for Extraordinary Leadership
Q: How can someone begin to apply the Be Do Have formula in their daily leadership practice?
By prioritizing awareness first, then taking responsibility for responses, and finally focusing on communication, so daily actions reflect who you are and materialize desired outcomes.
The Be. Do. Have. Formula for Extraordinary Leadership
Q: What are some of the common leadership skills that new leaders lack or fail to sharpen early on?
Robert emphasizes starting with the being—awareness of self, responsibility, and mastering communication—as the foundational gaps; without developing inner presence and culture, external achievements are hard to sustain.
How Great Leaders Translate Complexity Into Clarity
Q: What is next for you at Help Desk Reality, and how can listeners engage with your work?
Lara describes building a diverse IT team, maintaining a personal-touch service model, and inviting potential clients to reach out via email or the company site to explore partnerships.
Authority is Optional: Master the Art of Leading Without a Title
Q: Now, on that note, what would be your advice for young professionals to build their role as an influencer leader without a title?
If you are in an environment where positional power is dominant and you can't influence from within, you should consider seeking opportunities elsewhere or within a different context, because systemic change from the bottom up is difficult. Instead, cultivate relationships, listen actively, and look for environments where leadership is expressed through service to the organization, not through office hierarchy. A coach or mentor can help identify blind spots and accelerate growth.
Confident Leadership in Sales: Why Your Best Salespeople Often Fail as Managers
Q: How can a high-performing individual decide whether to move into a leadership role or stay as a producer?
Curt suggests evaluating inner drivers with needs, wants, and why, and considering whether leadership is about teaching and scaling impact rather than power.
