Every week, I explore (and more importantly EXPLAIN!) music, filmmaking, and the other creative arts. Personal tastes are not technique. I don't waste our time with the same old circular "it was good because I liked it because it was good." No sir! I deconstruct and reverse engineer composition, screenwriting, and how to correctly pronounce the word "folks." Who am I? I'm Carl King: musician, anim... more

I always enjoy Carl’s explanations and options about art and his passion for going against the societal grain. Furthermore, he is an advocate for NOT doing things that necessarily follow the norm but rather encourages one to put aside fear of judgment and not be afraid to unlock your deep (and sometimes hidden) creative potential. Carl has made farts not embarrassing anymore. Thanks for stepping out and being a leader in this movement.

Carl can discuss why flies prefer to land on, what they choose to land on, vs why bee’s are designed to pollinate flora. The Carl King Podcast is more than music, filmmaking and general creative stuff. It’s all those things that sometimes cross our minds we don’t often discuss. Plus it’s an open door to the mind of a master of creative genius. And it’s entertaining too! Thank you for the Carl King Podcast, Carl. Long-time listener, fan forever.
Interesting topics from music to film to personal reflections.
This is a podcast that I can relate with! Not only is Carl interested in most of the things that I’m interested in, but he knows how to talk to me in a slow and articulate manner (much like a Sam Harris podcast). Sure, at times I feel like he’s narrating a children's book but I still prefer to hear my podcasts in this way. Keep going, Carl!
If you are into things like animation, complicated music, and the secret history of this one strange corner of Florida’s Gulf Coast, you can get up to date with Carl King as he discusses his interests and ongoing projects with the listener. There’s always something weird and fascinating to follow up on, and with high production values (absent the occasional plosive) and Carl’s own musical compositions scoring his engaging delivery and dry wit, it’s an easy way to pass the time and discover new o... more
