An era when people took seriously their commitment to appreciating the art that had come before them: from Beowulf to ... more

  • Proud of the West

The West is the leading force for everything that is good of the world, let’s not remember just our dark side. The West needs to survive if we want to live in a freer and happier world.

  • Fantastic bluffer’s guide

To me, this is In Our Time with less of Bragg talking over people. I’ve long enjoyed Ed West’s work, and Paul Morland is a great partner. Caravaggio episode is excellent, but Van Gogh was the most intimate. I’ve thought about it a lot since.

  • Fascinating engaging stuff

Really enjoyed this. Have loved Caravaggio s paintings for years but know little about him. This really brought the man and his work to life. Great engagement between hosts and guest.
