In the episode discussing the criminal investigation of Fed Chair Powell, Baier and his panelists essentially agreed the spending $1.5 trillion on a building for bank is fine and a cost over-run of $600 million is no problem ( because everybody does it). Do these people even know any normal people outside of the Beltway? Most taxp... more

  • Excellent civil political discussions

The Bret Baier podcast is a great listen to those who appreciate a good and easily digestible political discussion of the topics of the day, but without the unfortunately typical acrimony, sensationalism, ideological, and rank partisanship.

Exclusive: Senate Majority Leader John Thune
Q: You're now on the bill. Where is this, where does it stand at this moment?
We are proceeding with the House-passed provisions on citizenship verification and voter ID, aiming for a 60-vote threshold but acknowledging it may require Democrats to come to their senses and defend a position that aligns with broad American views on security and integrity of elections.
Exclusive: House Speaker Mike Johnson on Iran, the DHS Shutdown, and the Midterms
Q: What can be done to address the funding stalemate and whether there is room for negotiation on DHS funding and ICE policies?
Johnson asserts reforms have been proposed and negotiations have occurred, but claims Democrats have moved the goalposts, and emphasizes the need for funding with security measures like verification and enforcement intact.
Exclusive: House Speaker Mike Johnson on Iran, the DHS Shutdown, and the Midterms
Q: Is there a solution for this partial government shutdown that is causing so much pain for TSA workers first, but also for travelers all across the country?
Johnson explains that the ball is in the Senate's court and stresses that funding has been proposed multiple times in the House, arguing Democrats are blocking funding and causing needless pain, while outlining reforms they'd accept.
Exclusive: BlackRock CEO Larry Fink on AI, Iran, and China
Q: What about China and global competition in technology?
The goal is to win with US-developed technology dispersed among allies, while engaging with China on trade and cooperation where possible, but maintaining strategic leadership and critical infrastructure independence.
Exclusive: BlackRock CEO Larry Fink on AI, Iran, and China
Q: Tell us about the Future Builders Initiative and its purpose.
AI is transformational; the initiative aims to retrain and equip Americans for new AI-enabled jobs, especially in trades like plumbing and electricians, to support infrastructure buildup and data centers, backed by substantial funding and a focus on long-term benefits.
