We had this idea: what if we had a few adventurous homebrewers brew beers according to some old set of BJCP style guidelines? Could they do it? What would that judging be like? How much has beer changed over the last 20 years or so? Turns out, there ... more
It's a double episode, with four hombrews up for judging! Well ok, three homebrews and a collab but like, who cares? In addition to the wealth of homebrew talk in this ep, we announce that Dr. Homebrew is going off our regular posting schedule (such ... more
Splitting the wine and beer worlds up was probably not the marketing plan craft beer should have gone with. So many flavors and descriptors cross those fermented boundaries that the two beverages are more alike than not. Sort of. On today's show, we ... more

I do enjoy the podcast for the most part. The only thing that I really don’t like is one of the host will ramble on for close to half an hour. I need to fast forward, or I tune it out. If they would control him more or edIt out more then half of the rambling would be 5 stars
Very interesting to listen to experienced judge’s explain what they’re tasting and what the probable causes of different flavors are. Always fun to hear the recipes as well. It’s like second-hand brewing experience to supplement my own encounters with homebrewing. Keep it up!
It's clear this whole network has given up. There's large gaps between releases, and then when there are releases it a batch of mutliple episodes at once. Editing is the biggest victim. Commerial breaks are dead silence. Commericals are annoying enough, dead air is just laziness.
I’m not joking, this is a great show.
For home brewers wanting to learn about faults in their beers and doing commercial calibrations with very good bjcp judges. I think they are Grand Poobah level judges or something like that.
You guys are awesome. I'm a Certified BJCP judge whos trying to improve on my own tasting score to move up in the ranks. And by listening to this show, I gain some wonderful vocabulary and ways to describe what I'm tasting in a glass. Thank-you....
