  • The Falloff is Incredible

It took about six months but I listened to the entire catalog of episodes with “the Dark Trio.” This show had become that good. Then, Megan and Jon left. Zena needed them. She’s trying but the revolving door of guest hosts haven’t helped matters. Shelby seems like a great person but her horror takes and lack of knowledge in anything past 1996 leaves a lot to be desired. What was once a great podcast is now a dud. And, it’s a real shame. This podcast represents Bloody Disgusting while providing ... more

  • Wish they knew history

Wish they knew more about older horror movies. I wanted to like this pod but they stay stupid stuff because they apparently only know about movies from the last 20 years or something

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

The Minds Behind THE DÆMON!
Q: How did the idea for the story come about?
Matt and I were pushed by a combination of personal life experiences, a desire to make something authentic, and a practical need to overcome the limitations of a first feature. We wanted to weave grief and trauma into a cosmic horror framework without relying on clichés, using a secluded location to amplify both atmosphere and character dynamics.
#265 - RAWHEAD REX (1986) + SCREAMBOX April Sneak Peek | Talk or Torch
Q: Shelby: What collection was the original Rawhead Rex story published in?
Books of Blood, volume three, with acknowledgment that Barker's short story appeared in Books of Blood (not Flesh).
#265 - RAWHEAD REX (1986) + SCREAMBOX April Sneak Peek | Talk or Torch
Q: Tony: Who says in Rawhead Rex you have very dirty eyes?
The line is delivered by a character in the film; the exact speaker is not clearly resolved in the podcast, but the moment is part of the trivia round.
#265 - RAWHEAD REX (1986) + SCREAMBOX April Sneak Peek | Talk or Torch
Q: Zena: What kind of comic book was Robbie Hallenbeck reading right before he's murdered?
Shelby and Zena note it was a scary comic, likely a Star Wars title based on their discussion, with true/false confirmation later.
#266 - BODY CAM (2020) & Real-World Horror
Q: What was the intended message of Body Cam, and did the film succeed?
They discuss that the message is difficult to parse, with some participants feeling the heavy trauma and real-world politics overshadowing horror elements, and acknowledge that the film's aim may have been blurred or divisive.
