Love love love this podcast. There’s not many like it. It’s the best. Hence, the name. Obviously.
There’s not many podcasts that give you Tom Scharpling, the amazing guest, incredible music acts, the live chat, weird calls from John Wurster, and Mushroom Mike… also much love to AP Mike, Bayonne NJ’s answer to Joey Swole. So many in jokes, so many rants… the Best.
Give yourself a few eps to get in the rhythm. You’ll love it.

This show was bedrock for me, 2005-2020, but the change in format in the LA phase has made it more of a variety show with interviews and live music doesn’t always work. (Also, the “Semi-weekly” shows seems to mean “quasi-weekly,” as there can be LONG gaps between Tues shows.)

Listeners likely enjoy candid storytelling, playful sarcasm, and deep dives into subcultures, indie music scenes, and media trivia. It probably resonates with creators and fans who value spontaneity, wit, and a sense of community around niche interests.
