The Baker Street Babes are an all-female group of Sherlock Holmes fans who talk about everything from canon to Cumberbatch, Charles Augustus Milverton to Jude Law, and dancing men to Jeremy Brett. We love Sherlock Holmes and we love having well informed, but also quite fun discussions about it. We're all young and we're all females, but we're all die hard Sherlockians/Holmesian. It's a demographic... more

This was one of the very first podcasts I picked up and one of a few non-fiction on my feed. The Babes (as they refer to themselves) are a nice mixture of scholary and aproachable. They know basically everything about Holmes and Doyle and the world of litterature of the time, but at the same time they are always aware that many of the people listening to them might be new to Sherlock Holmes and have maybe only seen the adaptations. Even when they have famous guests or talk about obscure deatils,... more
I enjoy every episode of The Baker Street Babes. It includes a variety of Holmes-related topics, including history, forensics, and literature. Episodes often focus on, but are not limited to, depictions of women in Holmes literature and media portrayals, women's history, and female Holmes scholars. Always enjoyable.
The audio is kinda hard to listen to sometimes. Your show and reviewing is great and funny. I really love your theme song.
I truly enjoy these podcasts because the Babes know their Conan Doyle inside out and they are very, very fun
I want to like this, I really do. The problem is that I can’t begin to understand half of it because the audio is simply horrible. It cuts in and out, making it nearly impossible to hear, especially when the classical music playing in the background. Interviews are sometimes conducted in restaurants, obviously without a proper microphone and the background noise of clinking classes overpowers the actual interview. The idea is great, but the execution desperately needs some work.
