A real decline , such a shame
Hey guys. Put the topic (the film under discussion) in the episode title. To find the one I was looking for — recommended on Letterboxd — I was going to have to manually open and read the details of 88 episodes. That’s asking too much of first-time listeners. So I might become a no-time listener. A little planning goes a long way!
Don’t know how I missed this podcast on release as I’ve hunted for reviews of Hammer that focused on specific films. Good format- how to watch, overview, what worked or didn’t, links to other Hammers, rating the actors in big and small parts, production issues, anecdotes and sometimes a guest who joins to discuss a particular film. A genuine Hammer Family. A third of the way through.
Oh dear …What planet is LM Myles on ? I have listened to two episodes now and am really struggling with her … Hound of the Baskervilles - she calls Sir Hugo’s hounds Basset hounds ! They are Beagles ! Release the hounds ! - can you imagine Basset hounds lolloping after the maidservant across the moor… Quatermass Xperimet - she’s never heard of Jane Asher and she’s never seen the film before … really ? Come on … really if you are going to comment on these films please do your research and think b... more
I love Hammer horror movies, as do these people.
It's a shame that some of the dry delivery works against it, as does the list of names at the start of each episode. I get it, some people donate money, good for them.
EDIT: Some episodes are much worse than others, depending on how interested the hosts are in actually discussing the movie. And it’s not good when any podcast host admits to already forgetting most of the movie being discussed.
