Q: How is it that I have three university degrees, I have a BSc in microbiology, I have an MSc in food microbiology, I am a certified medical laboratory assistant. When I came to Canada in 2016, these three degrees were fantastic to bring me here, but they were nothing when I set out to get a job. What can be done from a legislative point of view?
There is a difference between qualification assessments for immigration purposes and job assessments, which creates barriers for newcomers in the workforce.

Q: What inspired you to pursue a career in politics?
A lot of it is to do with the diverse perspectives in the immigrant community, which should inform policy-making.
