  • Great show…but

I love the show—great nostalgia and fun content! I just wish they’d keep politics out of a podcast that’s supposed to be about the ‘80s. If I want to hear about politics, I will listen to a podcast that is about politics. Otherwise, keep doing what you do!

Bringing Our 80s Toys Back
Q: How did you transition from being a musician to creating a toy business?
I treated toy creation as a creative outlet and a way to materialize ideas I loved from my youth, eventually moving into licensing, partnering with other studios, and building lines that could stand on their own while still nodding to the 80s era.
Dungeon Crawl at the 80s Mall
Q: What is the challenge in writing a Choose Your Own Adventure book as an adult author compared to writing straight fiction?
The challenge is crafting a cohesive main plot while designing multiple plausible endings and ensuring each branch remains engaging, which required a mapped approach and flexible storytelling to maintain reader immersion across endings.
Dungeon Crawl at the 80s Mall
Q: So it's great that it's back, it's here, and it's 80s in your new story here. What was your gateway into reading? How did you start reading when you were a kid?
I started with grocery store Archie Comics and then stumbled into older siblings' books, eventually moving toward Stephen King and other more adult fare, which shaped my love for sci-fi, fantasy, and horror from a young age.
Talking Gen X with Mark Mendenhall
Q: What did you begin with?
Mark explains that the early spark came from family and his first attempts at creating content, which gradually evolved into Gen X Talks as his son Briggs started making short videos and then podcasts.
Cancelled Nerds, Starfighter Sequels, and New Faces of Death
Q: Are we finally getting a last Starfighter sequel?
There are various projects and comics picking up after the original, including a new Last Starfighter comic series that could lay groundwork for sequels; the fate of a live-action sequel remains unclear.
