This series was once a very good podcast, but lately - since it‘s become mainly a video format maybe - it‘s no fun to listen anymore because it follows the very strange fashion to cut out all the tiny little breaks/rests between sentences. Why??? It sounds awful and why do have to speed everything up, anyway? More importantly, playing Jazz is all about to leave space and it seems very ironically that a Podcast talking about Jazz has no use for space anymore…Dude, please reconsider!
The best jazz educational materials I’ve ever found
Best quality and focused Jazz lessons. Patreon is a steal. I’m a guitarist and always learn somethings new from these lessons which are short and to the point. It’s easy to get swamped by jazz education but Nick does a great job in guiding you through the maze!
Explained for all to follow and actually hear; just a wonderful podcast that motivates us to make that music!
Nick, you’re a pioneer in jazz education- please keep it up!!!!!

Listeners consistently gain actionable methods, such as singing exercises, practical etudes, and clear frameworks (Listen Sing Play, two-five-one concepts, and vocabulary-building drills), often with downloadable PDFs and backing tracks to support ongoing practice. The show stands out for its tight, 10-minute format, strong emphasis on pedagogy, and a branded education platform that pairs short less... more
