  • Changed from 5 Stars to 3

UPDATE: Review changed from 5 stars to 3. The first season was so amazing, I was so excited that there would be a season two. Unfortunately, Season 2 is nothing like the first season and just feels like one big infomercial for the Thirteenth Floor. I am super disappointed. The only reason I am giving this podcast anything above 1 star is because the first season was so great.

This part of the review is my old review, when there was only Season 1: This is the podcast of my dreams!!! It is so muc... more

I love going to haunts but couldn’t be less interested in hearing about the behind the scenes. Hoping the third season returns to more Halloween centric subjects

BONUS EPISODE: Jeff DePaoli on America's Hometown Horror Podcast
Q: What is Wicked New England and what can people expect in year two?
Wicked New England is a halfway to Halloween festival featuring a vendor market across two floors of Old Town Hall with New England vendors, stage presentations, and family-friendly activities like Trick or Treating and photo opportunities, plus a focus on local Halloween culture.
"TRICK OR TREAT: A HISTORY OF HALLOWEEN" with the Non-Fiction Book's Author, Lisa Morton
Q: What's your favorite line or passage in your book?
One of my favorite lines discusses the misunderstanding of Halloween's origins, attributing much of the misconstrued lore to one bad historian.
"TRICK OR TREAT: A HISTORY OF HALLOWEEN" with the Non-Fiction Book's Author, Lisa Morton
Q: Do you still feel that Halloween remains a surprisingly under-researched and under-theorized topic in academic writing?
While Halloween research has picked up steam over the years, it still seems a little under-researched.
"TRICK OR TREAT: A HISTORY OF HALLOWEEN" with the Non-Fiction Book's Author, Lisa Morton
Q: How did you even start that research process for your book?
The research process now involves a lot of online searches of digitized newspapers and sources. In the early days, it meant weekly trips to libraries and using old folklore books as starting points.
"VINTAGE HALLOWE'EN: TRICKS, TREATS & TRADITIONS" with the Non-Fiction Book's Authors, Robert & Heidi Pandis
Q: What do you think when I say Dracula?
I used to do a lot of work in Transylvania and Romania, so I know this castle is destroyed, and you can still see the ruins up on a mountain.
