Always great content but please adjust the sound quality of host. I listen in the car and have to change volume constantly. Very hard to hear.

  • Great podcast but sound quality terrible

This is consistently an interesting & useful

Podcast. I just wish the sound quality was not all over the place. Listening on earbuds I’m frequently adjusting volume up or down from speaker to speaker to theme music. If the sound quality was levelled out it would be a much better listen.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Episode 296: Léo Terrando from Studio Terrando on choreographing interiors for timeless residential and hospitality spaces
Q: How do you think designers should rethink private living spaces in light of the crossover with shared amenity spaces?
The core is connection—spaces should enable sociability and easy access to communal moments, with simple, honest design that supports movement, good air flow, and flexible space for people to come together.
Episode 296: Léo Terrando from Studio Terrando on choreographing interiors for timeless residential and hospitality spaces
Q: In your experience, are clients increasingly seeking homes that deliver a lifestyle experience similar to hospitality environments, or not at all?
Yes and no—some clients want a vacation-like experience in their homes, especially in single residences, but large developments require more restrained, scalable approaches; the focus should be on experiences and communal spaces that feel welcoming while remaining practical.
Episode 296: Léo Terrando from Studio Terrando on choreographing interiors for timeless residential and hospitality spaces
Q: Do you have an example you could tell us in mind, either French or Australian?
I often think of Jacques Tati's My Uncle, a film about a futuristic house that feels both avant-garde and timeless, illustrating how a space can feel contemporary even when it references past design language.
Episode 296: Léo Terrando from Studio Terrando on choreographing interiors for timeless residential and hospitality spaces
Q: From your perspective, what are the key ingredients that allow a space to remain relevant and feel timeless over the long term?
Trends sit on the surface; lasting relevance comes from designing around the space itself, effective lighting, and a depth of atmosphere that doesn't rely on fashionable finishes but on how people move and experience the space.
Episode 295: Leanne Guy Principal & Global Health Sector Leader of Hassell on rethinking our healthcare learning environments
Q: What governance structures are needed to make shared educational spaces viable between universities and health services?
Clear agreements on funding, management, and maintenance are essential, forming the governance framework that enables collaboration and shared use of spaces like simulation centers and training rooms.
