This podcast is great. A very well-written and read story in the world of the Witcher. Unique characters, an engaging narrative, and exciting action.
I kind of can’t believe this is a re-telling of an actual-play of a role-playing game, it flows so smoothly as an audiobook.
I’d recommend this to anyone who is interested in TTRPGs, the Witcher, or fantasy in general, it deserves far more listens.
I was surprised how intriguing and smooth the stories were for this. It does definitely read like a novel with some interesting twists and longer character arcs. I have been listening to it on my drive to work, and it makes the drive something I look forward to!
Would love to listen to whatever you do next or be part of an email newsletter lol!
Some iffy sound design choices, but not a bad way to go if you need more Witcher content.
I’ve consumed every Witcher novel, and was pleasantly surprised to find out how well this novelized actual play plays like I’m reading one. There are no heroes here, but self-interested, myopic, and obstinate adventures that need each other to survive; much like Geralt’s hanza from the novels. The game canon is also included in clever ways. Anyways irked by how the Netflix show developed, look no further!
As a massive Witcher fan and an aspiring fantasy writer myself I cannot recommend this series enough. These stories feels so authentic that you couldn’t distinguish them from something written by a licensed company that has rights to The Witcher. If Jacob doesn’t get picked up by CD Projekt Red it will be a huge loss on their part! All that being said I’m sad that the series is ending soon, but I cannot understate how much I’ve enjoyed these stories and characters. I hope Jacob will continue to ... more
