  • Unsubscribing because of fake episodes

I was open to giving this show a chance and enjoyed the first episodes I listened to. I’m unsubscribing after the first week because of the onslaught of episode clips posted to the feed.

Incredibly annoying. Zero benefit to the listeners. Just ruins my podcast feed.

There’s a reason zero other podcasts do this.

  • Love the show, but I do disagree on some points

I do think that Dan is judging too early on Trapillo just taking either the Left or Right Tackle position with nothing standing in his way. He has looked very good in helmet, t-shirt and shorts. But he won’t beat out Darnell Wright (a 1st round pick, who has played well) on the right side. And Braxton Jones who is just capable, has 3 seasons of experience against NFL rushers. Until we see Trapillo in action with the pads we shouldn’t make that assumption.

Mark seems emotionally scarred by the Gr... more

  • Enjoyable Podcast

How can there be any talk of not taking any position other than a left tackle in the 1st round?

  • Love it, except…

Longtime listener, Grote and Dan are great together. Please no more Studz on air. More interviews, and no more little broken up segments that make me think there’s new episodes! Would be 5 stars otherwise.

Ben Johnson doesn't plan to get away from football much during the NFL's 'dark' period
Q: Do you have plans to get away from football during this period, or is it all about preparation?
Johnson acknowledges a strong focus on preparation, expressing anticipation for studying game plans and cut-ups, with a clear preference for maximizing learning rather than taking extended downtime.
Ben Johnson doesn't plan to get away from football much during the NFL's 'dark' period
Q: How do you describe the next six weeks for you, given the awkward time away from football?
Johnson emphasizes that summers are valuable for ahead-of-season prep, deep-diving into specific areas (including Miami's run-game concepts) and using the time to sharpen fundamentals and technique.
BONUS: Political reporter Geoff Buchholz talks Bears' mixed messages about their stadium plan
Q: What would a special session have meant for this process?
A special session could have accelerated action, but officials indicated it was unlikely, making the normal legislative calendar the limiting factor for any major deal.
BONUS: Political reporter Geoff Buchholz talks Bears' mixed messages about their stadium plan
Q: What are the main sites being touted and what message does that send to lawmakers and fans?
The main sites discussed were Arlington Park, Hammond in Indiana, and potential Chicago lakefront developments; mixed messaging from the Bears suggested multiple possible locations, which diluted a coherent strategy and undermined confidence among officials and the public.
BONUS: Political reporter Geoff Buchholz talks Bears' mixed messages about their stadium plan
Q: Can you explain in layman's terms what happened with the stadium bill and why it didn't pass?
Geoff explains that the bill unravelled due to a combination of procedural hurdles and political resistance, particularly from the Chicago delegation, who were reluctant to vote for a measure that could be perceived as helping the Bears leave Chicago; there were also broader negotiations about tax incentives and site plans that made the package too complex to pass quickly.
