  • Best Podcast for Summits. Period.

I’m a Summit host who made $30,000 in net revenue after my very first Summit. But, my 2nd Summit didn’t do as well. I’ve been binge listening to Krista’s episodes and taking notes like crazy. There are so many new things I’m learning from making my web site better and exploring advertising. There are also things I’m doing that I realized I shouldn’t be doing. Krista KNOWS what’s she’s talking about and I’m confident all of these tips are going to pay off.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

318: Protect Your Summit from Copycats with Joey Vitale
Q: How important is a comprehensive trademark search?
Very important; searches help identify red flags and guide tweaks or alternatives to ensure a higher likelihood of registration success, avoiding future conflicts.
318: Protect Your Summit from Copycats with Joey Vitale
Q: What options exist if a host already lacks a trademark?
You can issue cease-and-desist letters, though enforcement is easier with registration; trademark rights are created upon use, but registration provides a more straightforward, enforceable framework.
318: Protect Your Summit from Copycats with Joey Vitale
Q: What protection should a summit host have from the start?
Protect the summit's name, and consider trademarking any slogan and the logo if it has staying power; early protection reduces risk of copycats and rebranding chaos.
318: Protect Your Summit from Copycats with Joey Vitale
Q: When should someone start trademarking their summit?
From day one, to prevent accidental infringement and to secure enforcement leverage as the brand grows; even if you plan to do a full search later, starting early helps.
318: Protect Your Summit from Copycats with Joey Vitale
Q: What is actually protectable for Virtual Summits—names, formats, or other elements?
Trademarks protect the short-form names, slogans, and logos; copyrights cover longer-form content like blogs and recordings, but enforcement for copyrights is often costly, so prioritizing trademark protection is advised.
