  • A different home decor podcast

I’ve been listening to the podcast for quite a while. Zandra is a thoughtful and interesting host and the information is valuable and different. I especially liked the episode with Professor Annetta Grant. I don’t think there’s anything else like it. It was thought-provoking.

  • Exactly what I was looking for

I'm wanting to enrich my knowledge of interior decorating and have been trying to find podcasts to help me with that, and this is the best one I've found so far! The sound quality alone is a huge plus, but of course the best part is her insight. She presents information in a clear but interesting way. I learn something really valuable every episode.

Old Bones + Modern Soul: How Jo Berryman Honors History with Bold, Irreverent Choices
Q: How do you balance old and new in a way that feels cohesive across spaces?
By keeping a consistent material palette—natural stones, brass, wood—and by letting the architectural skeletons (like window openings) guide the flow, while applying modern, lighter fixtures and art to provide contrast without competing with the historic bones.
Old Bones + Modern Soul: How Jo Berryman Honors History with Bold, Irreverent Choices
Q: Tell us about the kitchen transformation and how you preserved the original elements.
The original mullion windows stayed intact and the team added a miniature wave-edge marble detail as a window lip to echo the landscape; they also used a Bauhaus-inspired copper hood with a sculptural presence and integrated a brass shishugiban finish, which is a resin mold finished to resemble charred wood for durability and warmth.
How Your “Comfortable” Home is Holding You Back with Vera Blouin
Q: How do you approach the before state and why is transformation worth pursuing?
The before state is a mental and physical marker of who you were; transformation is worth pursuing because it aligns your environment with your evolving life, enabling growth rather than stagnation.
How Your “Comfortable” Home is Holding You Back with Vera Blouin
Q: You say interior design is reincarnation. What do you mean by that?
Design is more than decorating; it's a rebirth of space and self. The space evolves with the person, reflecting growth and shifting identity as we move into a new chapter.
Slow Style In The Wild: Christina Cruz Leans on Art, Nature and Antiques
Q: What feelings were you trying to evoke in this bedroom?
We wanted to keep the historic feel while modernizing the home, using lime wash and incorporating vintage pieces alongside modern elements.
