My kids love listening to what term as: dad.com.
The stories are short enough to keep their attention (4&6) and it results in a fantastic quiet drive in the car.
I have even used at bedtime when I am too tired to read and the kids have not yet settled down.
“Dad” uses different voices for the different characters, which is entertaining and fun to listen to. The little bit of wisdom at the end always makes me want to ask the kids their thoughts on the subject, to see if has sunk in.
