I’m listening to the Pod and I realized that I haven’t written a review. 5 ⭐️’s. I’ve been listening since day 1. I’m a daily listener. I listen to most shows unless it’s an all Rays baseball show. I’m not a big baseball fan. I do download anyway to help the pod. I’m a big fan of Rick’s. I love all the inside jokes that only true listeners would know. The Gruden. “Here’s what I think I think.” Rick can’t go to Lightning games. He can’t go on vacation without some giant story hitting. The mailbag... more

  • Best Tampa area pod

Great, smart listen. Way better than the local Tampa radio station where they yell at you and talk like everybody is an idiot. Thankful for this pod.

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Inside Bucs-Baker Mayfield Contract Talks, Rays Lose 2-of-3 to Angels & US Wins World Cup Opener
Q: What could it take for Baker to get a deal done before training camp?
The hosts discuss that proximity on a contract, with Bowles suggesting health and turnovers are central, and Licht noting the potential use of a franchise tag as a placeholder if a deal isn't reached, while both acknowledge the deadline pressures and the possibility of delaying negotiations until closer to training camp.
MAILBAG: Rays' Chandler Simpson, Cedric Mullins & Mike Evans Leaving Tampa for San Fran
Q: Terry asked about Mike Evans moving to San Francisco; will the climate and system help his hamstring issues?
They argue that the cooler, drier climate may help reduce dehydration and hamstring risk, and that Kyle Shanahan's usage and the 49ers' run-first approach could maximize Evans' production if he stays healthy.
MAILBAG: Rays' Chandler Simpson, Cedric Mullins & Mike Evans Leaving Tampa for San Fran
Q: Derek asked why the Rays stopped running more often since the Yankee series; what's the perception on the aggressive base-running shift?
The hosts discuss how teams adjust to opponents' pitchers and catching on tendencies, noting that with runners on base the offense should still push, but risks of double plays and outs can temper aggression depending on the game situation and lead. They suggest that lineup construction and health influence decision-making more than superstition.
Rays Beat The Red Sox, Now 11-0 vs AL East at Home & Stadium Mailbag Question
Q: What are the odds that the Glazers and Zalupki's team come together for a shared dome for both the Bucs and the Rays, and how would financing work long-term?
The hosts discuss the complexities of shared stadiums, including revenue sharing, naming rights, upfront costs, and the political realities of public funding, suggesting that while possible, practical and financial hurdles make it unlikely in the near term.
Drew Rasmussen Dominates For Rays & Bucs Mailbag on Baker Mayfield and Training Camp Battles
Q: What are the biggest positional camp battles for the Bucs this offseason?
On offense, receiver depth is the main area of competition, with Emeka Mabuka and Chris Godwin likely to factor in. At running back, a 1A/1B style split among young backs (including Sean Tucker and Kenny Gainwell) is anticipated, with depth across the front seven and defensive backs—particularly at cornerback—being a focal point of the evaluation.
