This is our real life, in real Spain. Ten years of adventures since swapping our glorious Victorian House in leafy Essex for a tiny flat in a wild Andalusian village. I was once a Radio Producer in London, not a great one. I sacked Richard Hammond for not knowing enough about cars. Was rude to J.K. and binned her rubbish first edition new kiddies book. Told the man behind Amazon when it launched i... more

I too live in Spain in the region of catalunya (lets not open up that can of worms) and have done for the last 24 years and have thoroughly enjoyed your podcast throughout these seismic days. I recognised many of the themes such as the love of ‘burocracia’ and often had a chuckle to myself as you gave your slant on them. I wish you and your partner all the best in the ‘Nueva normalidad’ and thank you for taking the time to put together your podcast.
I love this and look forward to my daily dose with my first cup of tea of the day.
It gives one an insight into the joys, trials, tribulations and wonderment of Brits establishing themselves in Spain, and embracing a Spanish lifestyle far from the madding crowd.

Well worth listening to. Keep them coming James
It's like an old friend is letting you in on the secret Spain that the average guide book or package holiday will miss. Witty and insightful observation. The odd rude language does not offend but makes you more amused at James' occasional temper with the more exasperating Spanish practices. Looking forward to the rest of the series.
