  • Feeling meh about this pod now

I’ve been listening for years now but lately I feel like every episode is about aliens or conspiracy theories and I really miss the amazing true crime episodes. You guys did such a good job with insight into true crime and I deeply miss that. I understand the conspiracy theory angle but this world is truly and actually crazy and if you talked about factually evident events and cases I think that would also effect just as many ppl.

  • Opinionated Seawards

I love this podcast. I occasionally save heavier episodes for another time, but they are so good. I also have several episodes saved (Mc Gruff, anyone?) because they are so hilarious. I listed to the episode about clowns on a flight and couldn’t avoid scream laughing. Sometimes, I marathon too many cryptid episodes and find myself slipping in to Heather’s live show accent. “No, it’s full of raccoons,” has also become a household catch phrase.

P.S. re: review title - I too love arrested develop... more

  • Great podcast

I really enjoy the way the hosts go about each topic. I listen to a lot of different true crime podcasts but these two definitely have a unique style of podcasting. They are funny at times and down to earth when they need to be- a great balance of the two.

  • Used to be Favorite Podcast

I’ve been listening since 2020, and Sinisterhood quickly became my favorite podcast. I look forward to Wednesdays and Fridays every week because I know there will be a new episode, and they’re such good story tellers. I love how Heather and Christie provide commentary and insight and how they always stand up against injustice. The only thing I don’t like is that they do a lot of multi-episode stories and I don’t like waiting a week in between on a cliff hanger, so I wait until all episodes are o... more

  • Amazing Dedication

I’ve been listening for years and am proud of this podcast. Their coverage of the Epstein files has been much appreciated. It’s a tough subject with a lot of information and they’ve been able to bring us episodes that break down all of this info, all while being as respectful as possible to the subject matter. Thanks, ladies!!

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Bonus: A Conversation with Jen Miller
Q: How did you decide what made the final cut, and were there areas you explored but later decided not to include?
Jen describes the trade-offs between propulsion and depth, safety concerns, and the need to protect the twins and their families, which sometimes meant omitting sensitive details to prevent real-world harm while preserving the core truth and emotional arc.
Bonus: A Conversation with Jen Miller
Q: What did it feel like to cover a true crime story that was almost too unbelievable to be real?
She discusses the balance between truth and empathy, the responsibility to handle trauma with care, and the realization that the human stakes—families, communities, and futures—require a narrative that goes beyond sensationalism.
Bonus: A Conversation with Jen Miller
Q: So you first encountered Trung while researching a piece about Shakespeare in Healing in Prisons, which is so, at what moment did you realize this was something much larger than the original story, and did any part of you hesitate to follow it?
Jen explains that earning the twins' trust and validating the consistency of their story over years revealed a larger narrative about family loyalty, immigration, and the potential for rehabilitation, which transformed a single assignment into a six-year investigative journey.
Bonus: A Conversation with Natalie Robehmed
Q: Was that part of the reason that you felt like Allison's post-NXIVM chapter was kind of right to tell that story?
Robehmed feels that Allison is at a point where she can reflect on her experiences while still understanding the complexity of her past.
Bonus: A Conversation with Natalie Robehmed
Q: What kind of drew you to this topic and stories about power, influence and ambition?
Robehmed was drawn to the complexity of Allison Mack's story, emphasizing the dual roles of victim and perpetrator.
