Since Attlee & Churchill has become my favourite podcast. I have had an interest in British politics for nearly 50 years & studied political history so much of the content is familiar. But there are always things I didn’t know and takes that make me rethink familiar episodes in our history. It also provides some escape from today’s rather dismal cast of politicians - whilst reminding us that everyone is flawed.
This is just a wonderful podcast. Lee and Richard are extremely passionate about politics in addition to being exceptionally skilled historians. They’re also able to agree disagreeably. What I love most about this podcast is that I often learn a bunch of new things about issues in the events that I thought I knew a lot about. You’re spending an hour in the company of two people who so obviously history, love politics and love each other. Bliss.
This podcast is regularly a fantastic listen and truly something different from mainstream political podcast offerings. The commentary is laser-focused on issues of political history, backed up by research which bridges political academia and practice. A real hidden gem which deserves a wider audience!
It’s a year now since your fabulous pod cast, was trying to think of a show you could do , you’ve mentioned Frank field. Few times, the 2010 labour leafleting or the 2019 general election, are there any historical Tories or those associated with thd Tories that inspired Blue Labour?
This is a really good and informative podcast for anyone who has an interest in British political history
