  • Question for you!

Hey, Nancy! Huge Simpsons fan here :)

I have a question for you! I’ve noticed (and I’m sure you have to) that Nelson’s voice has changed a lot over the years. In the earlier seasons, it’s a lot higher and almost Ralph-adjacent, but in seasons 7+ it’s a lot deeper. I’m wondering if this happened naturally or if this is an acting choice.

Love your podcast btw! Tell Rob Paulsen I’m his biggest fan! 🤗

Keep up the great work, Nancy ❤️

  • Please fix the audio

Amazing podcast but loses stars due to an atrociously bad audio mix. The show is so quiet and the ads are twice as loud. Please do the fans a solid and fix.

  • Great podcast, quiet audio mixing

Love love love the podcast. Thanks to Nancy and others for making it happen! Unfortunately the interview audio is rather quiet overall even when volume is maximized on my devices. Issue seems consistent irregardless of device. Makes it especially difficult to listen in my car or while working.

  • Please increase audio!

I love the podcast and have been a life-long Simpsons fan. But it sounds like it’s coming out at half the volume of my other podcasts. I have to turn the sound up all the way on my player!

Nancy Cartwright on Voice Acting, Bart-Mania, and The Simpsons’ Biggest Moments
Q: What is your single favorite memory from the show or the best experience being a part of the cast has given you?
Two moments stand out: first, the 1992 Emmy recognition for the voice cast and the Aspen Comedy Arts Festival performance where all the actors wore special jackets and performed readings to packed houses; second, the Hollywood Bowl performance years later with a large orchestra and guest stars, which felt like a culmination of years of work and fan appreciation.
Fat Tony and Bart have a friendly little chat
Q: Did you have direction from Matt Groening and the writers on how Fat Tony should sound?
There was trust and comfort with the material; I embraced the character and found a voice that felt true to him, sometimes drawing from personal inspirations without external nudges that would derail the vibe.
