  • Kudos and Suggestion

Really miss the good ol days when Smoaky regularly interviewed high school coaches and players throughout the Central Texas area and coverage of high school football in general. Your coverage of Baylor football is exemplary and peerless, but listening to the high school coaches and how they develop young men on and off the field was inspiring to me as a fan. Coverage of college football teams outside the Big 12, not so much. Wish you would reconsider for the 2023 football season.

Q: Are there enough good coaches to fill the growing vacancies?
There will be some swapping among coaches, but this might open opportunities for assistant and lower-level coaches to step up.

Q: What's the bigger story right now in college football? Chaos in the top 25 or the coaching carousel?
It's the coaching carousel that's capturing attention, with many schools firing head coaches and looking for replacements.
Max Olson on the 5-for-5 Play Option and Coaching Hot Seats
Q: Is there any speculation on coaching moves with the recent losses?
Struggles like Nebraska's recent performance have affected speculation around coaching positions, leading some discussions to quiet down after disappointing results.
Max Olson on the 5-for-5 Play Option and Coaching Hot Seats
Q: What do you think the athletes would want? Do they want five for five or six for five?
Max believes the NCAA might be hesitant to embrace reform like this because there could be legal challenges wanting more than five years of eligibility.
Zach Gelb on the Stability of Dave Aranda and the Best Week 9 Games
Q: Are there any coaches on the hot seat that shouldn't be, or should those schools just go ahead and bring out the guillotine?
Stoops has had two 10-win seasons, but it's time to move on; I like Mike Norvell, but the last two years have been a disaster.
