《在熙，燒酒，我，還有冰箱裡的藍莓與菸》最讓我驚訝的是作者的翻轉能力，並不是結局大翻轉的那種翻轉，而是在每一個章節都精心設計一個陷阱，讓大家掉入之後，他再來謎底揭曉。
我一開始是先看電視劇，一開始原本以為是膚淺好笑的男同志故事，沒想到翻轉成深刻的出櫃與背叛的故事。然後看第二部分，我本來以為是一個要跟媽媽出櫃的故事——我看到一半忽然覺得應該要先看小說，結果沒想到竟然是比出櫃更可怕的故事。
甚至講到韓國的白色恐怖、政治傾向，以及夾在其中的同性戀認同——這件事非常具有普世性，身在台灣的男同性戀的大家最懂這件事了。
最後結局也完全不是我本來以為故事應該會有的走向。真是厲害的小說。
