Fascinating discussion. In my own coaching this is the route I have gravitated to with my team. We have less than an hour a week on a 4g so centering the learning around games with relatable rewards. The lightbulb moment for me was trying to do a regimented passing practice that delivered no discernible outcomes at all. I switched to a game with reward for the learning I was looking for and I realised 90pc of my sessions needed to be them playing the game.
Class insight into many key aspects of what can help an athlete be as good as they can be. Hearing it from those that have experienced the highs and the lows of their own sport is so important to understand why a variety of players attend and play their sports or activities.
It will certainly make me a better coach to discover why players attend and how to help them achieve what they would like to.
Brilliant subject this, definitely got me thinking as an enthusiastic parent! I’ve reviewed my ways after listening for sure.
Found this podcast really helpful and informative
I love listening to foot tech when I’m driving around !!
