  • Pinky & The Brain But They’re Rats Not Mice

Perfect blend of conversation and chaos. Makes me laugh out loud regularly, and has introduced me to some top-tier comics. Heard the Two Pink Dancers bit from Ep 1 and knew I was in for the long haul.

  • Brilliant so far

One of the best, and funniest new podcasts I’ve heard in years. The Canadian parents bit in the Kate Hammer episodes had me laughing so much in the supermarket that I was getting funny looks. Can’t afford the Patreon (sorry lads) so wanted to support with a review. If you could turn off gambling adverts in the ad serve (?) preferences I’ll send you a tenner in the post as I hate them so much and the industry in general. Much love.

Frequently Asked Questions About Shooting Ropes

What is Shooting Ropes about and what kind of topics does it cover?

Two Scottish stand-up veterans host a weekly, freewheeling chat built on strong camaraderie, quick-fire riffs, and unapologetic banter. Episodes center on touring life, backstage stories, and the comedy scene, often featuring a guest who brings a mix of stand-up anecdotes, career milestones, and humorous personal digressions. The tone tends toward chaotic energy, spontaneous bit-work, and playful roast-style interactions, with occasional live-show plugs and cross-promotions. A standout angle is the tight-knit, long-running duo dynamic that keeps conversations loose, funny, and surprisingly candid, making it a go-to for listeners who want blunt humor, practical showbiz anecdotes, and a sense of regional comedy culture.
