“當仁慈對一個人無用時，
嚴格將有效的成為其他人的榜樣。“
對一個人的惡言或惡行，您會做出具體而且有效的回應嗎？
在人的認知裏，仁慈和嚴格是對立的，
其實嚴格只是方法、技巧，對待人永遠都要仁慈。
換句話說，仁慈是態度，嚴格則是特殊時刻使用，
其實嚴格也離不開仁慈，但是不在同一個平面上。
聖依納爵不希望團體的成員良莠不齊，
他給予的指示是「當寛容對一個人顯得無效的時候，
嚴厲待之作為他人的榜樣，將有所助益。」
這句智語像是殺一儆百，為了團體的好處必須這樣做， more

孟子從人的行為中解析人心的作用，
以此作為性善論的基礎，
每個人都有仁義禮智等「四端之心」，
