I really enjoyed the first three episodes of Shame Rules! The content was well researched, kept my attention and I learned a lot from each episode. I hope to see more episodes come out soon!
The first three episodes have really resonated with me. I am paying more attention to when I feel shame and how I have reacted in the past. more
I’ve been excited about this one for a while and so glad it’s here! Nick has shown us for a while he knows his way around stories and this podcast is no exception. Can’t wait to get my Shame Rules! paper bag!! more
Shame is a biiig topic to tackle and Nick is doing it so well! A great combination of research, storytelling, and just a little bit of winking at a tricky subject. more
Such a great listen. I’m three episodes in and each one is relevant to the insanity of the world at this moment but not so relevant that it’s overwhelming. Interesting, a little funny, and brings a great perspective to stories I knew parts of. Five thumbs up!
Shame Rules is a work of art! Fascinating topics! I always leave with lots to think about as the events being discussed are ones I never learned about in school. I appreciate the way Nick approaches each topic with great care and respect. Having grown up in purity culture, I felt his commentary on it was very fair. It honored some of the good intentions behind teaching purity while also highlighting how the use of shame as a motivator has had a negative impact on women in particular. Well done!
Shame Rules! is pleasantly different than what I expected—unveiling shame in ways I had not thought about; systematic, large scale, and with a call to see situations differently. Also, it’s the personal stories weaved into the larger narrative that make the show relatable and human. I'm a few episodes in and I'm hooked.
If you’re looking for something truly fresh in the world of podcasting, this is it. Not only is the production fabulous, but Nick’s perspective will take you on an adventure where you never know quite what will happen next. Equal parts thoughtful and entertaining, this show now occupies a solid place in my weekly cue.
