Knowledgeable and passionate hosts that don’t just cover the movies of the classic Noir era but also the contexts. And no attempts to give a woke contemporary lens on the form - one of my pet hates as they are of their time. Highly recommended!
What does age matter? Who cares how old these films are? Art is ageless. I like the narrator; no ums, cursing or stupidity. Thank you !!
This is a fantastic and highly informative podcast about film noir. Dan is so passionate and knowledgeable on the subject. I've seen him do live talks as well at the local library and he is a total natural.
So many of the classic movie and film noir discussions on podcasts are either flat entry level presentations (like someone reading a Wikipedia page) or complete novices celebrating their own ignorance. This pod is neither of those. The content is thoroughly researched and distilled into a professional, polished and enjoyable presentation. Although it is relatively new the episodes are appearing consistently and I look forward to hearing it evolve and solidify as a new favorite!
Interesting, smart, detailed and spoken as an expert. Really impressed.
