The Australian really is an absolutely grotesque outlet. For giving this poor victims abusers a platform, for digging through the poor victims life and for even considering making this abhorrent podcast. Shameful
I’ve come to rely on The Australian to deliver exactly this level of journalistic excellence. A deft and thoughtful exploration of a staggeringly difficult subject.
Absolutely disgusting that this journalist could reopen this, retraumatise the victim and expose this girl to public harassment and use her medical notes against her. She told her story over and over in court. Her parents are rightfully now jailed. May Jess now move on with her life and find a modicum of peace. Shame on Richard Guilliatt for this utter victim blaming garbage.

I myself am a victim of sexual assault. Not at the horrifying levels described in this case, thankfully. But I do deeply understand the importance of believing women, even when there isn’t “hard evidence” of their claims of abuse.
