一日，世尊為比丘們講述自己過去的本生故事：久遠以前，波羅㮈國的山中住著一位仙人。春天時分，他在澡盤中小便時，正好看見兩隻鹿在交會，心中起了淫心，精液便流進澡盤裡。後來，母鹿喝了澡盤中的水，當下便有了身孕。懷胎滿月後，母鹿回到仙人的草庵旁生產，當牠看見所生的孩子身形似人，便將孩子留給仙人後，就離開了。
