「解無為法，名曰沙門」，出家必須持修二百五十條戒，這屬於比丘的戒，比丘尼則有三百四十八條戒。佛又開演種種方便加行，依著加行修證四向四果，最後證到阿羅漢果，真正契入無為。無為當中不妨礙有為，無為是體、有為是用。所以要知道出家的目的，就是要「識心達本，解無為法」。「解」是了解。我們先了解道理，然後再修行契悟，真正達到無為法，就是真正的沙門。「沙門」是出家修行者的稱呼，有很多祖師大德，著作、釋經，落款不寫比丘而寫沙門，因為比丘要持二百五十條戒、比丘尼三百四十八條戒，要把這些戒持清淨了，才稱得... more

所以禪宗祖師說「明心見性」，就是要明白這一念心，而見性就是達本。本就是本具，我們這念心性是本具的，師父說法、諸位聽法的這念心是本自具足，不是父母給我們的，也不是閻王、佛菩薩給我們的，這念心「法爾如是」。這個根本，無所從來，無所從去，沒有去、沒有來，畢竟空寂。體達畢竟空寂又不執著畢竟空寂，這就是達本、就是見性。佛就是悟了這念心，所以稱為法王，法王是諸法之王。這個世界無論過去、現在、未來、有情世間、無情世間、淨土、穢土、三塗六道、四生九有，都是我們這念心所生，所以要認識這個根本。所謂「三界... more

進一步要了解辭親出家的目的，就是要「識心達本，解無為法」，出了家以後第一要「識心」、第二要「達本」、第三要「解無為法」。「識」就是認識我們自己的心。心可分為幾種：第一，是妄想心。第二，是肉團心。第三，是真實心。
「肉團心」就是心臟。過去一般都認為，心臟就是自己的心；由於醫學發達，證明心臟並不是我們所說的心。現在有心臟移植手術，甲的心臟可以換給乙，乙可以換給丙，丙可以換給丁……如果心臟是我們的心，那麼甲的心臟換給乙，甲所認識、知道的事情，乙也應該知道，但事實並非如此，這就證明心... more

為什麼要想成道就要出家？這是真實的道理，萬法都是因緣所生。「因」就是我們自己的努力；「緣」就是幫助我們成道的因緣。想要成道，沒有助緣便很難成就。第一，要有住的地方，也就是清淨的道場。「清淨」一種是理上的清淨，一種是事上的清淨，這兩者都很重要。事上的清淨，住在道場裡面，要清潔、整齊、莊嚴，要有樹木、花草。大陸的叢林多是坐北朝南，就是取其冬暖夏涼適合人居。修行在還沒有得到正定三昧以前，必須要靠外面的助緣來調和四大及身心，所以事相上的清淨很重要。看到外面，有樹木、有青山、有綠水，這個道場就是... more
