苦諦是一種真理。沒有一個眾生能逃得過八苦。不知道用功修行，人生就是八苦交煎，明白此理就要知苦，檢討反省自己現在有沒有這八苦？知苦以後，進一步推究，這苦從什麼地方來？不是父母、閻王或菩薩給的，它是從「集」產生出來的。所謂「有此則有彼，無此則無彼，此生則彼生，此滅則彼滅。」這是因緣果報的關係，「集」就是由過去與現在的因所產生。假使沒有因一定沒有果。「有此則有彼」，「此」─有這麼一個因，「彼」─一定有這麼一個果報。「有此則有彼，無此則無彼」，沒有因，絕對沒有果，有因一定會感果。「此生則... more

「愛別離苦」，有愛就有離別之苦，人與人之間的因緣，不是生離，就是死別。現在在一起，因緣散了就分離，愛別離是很痛苦的，不論父母、兄弟、夫妻、朋友之愛，愛太深了，煩惱就會現前。愛就是恨，親就是冤，太親近了，將來就有可能成冤家。像小孩子們，兩個要好不到三天，突然仇恨起來。為什麼？因為當中一個忽然跟其他人要好，被冷落的那個就吃醋、嫉妒，愛就成恨，親就成冤。家人也一樣，有些父母兄弟本來是親，最後卻成為冤家，而與我們無緣的人便很難成冤，所以冤多由親而來。了解此理，人與人之間相處，要保持平常心、平... more

現代人受到科學、醫學研究的影響，聽到哪些菜可以治病，就產生執著。其實，醫學、科學都只是提供一個營養的參考。最高的營養是我們這心中沒有煩惱、執著、掛礙，經常保持愉快、平靜，吃什麼東西都很美味，吃什麼身體都能吸收，這就是最高的營養。所以我們吃東西，不需向外去追求美味、高營養，明白佛法的道理，就了解這一切都在我們這念心當中。佛法中提到悟道，就是悟這念心。因為「心生萬法」心才是最重要的！所以好吃、不好吃都是心的作用。
