參禪、打坐或念佛，剛開始精進用功，感到身心安定，但經過一段時間以後，但卻反而覺得心定不下來、心煩意燥，這就是心當中的無明煩惱現前了。假使能夠觀照到，就能將煩惱轉過來；如果不知道覺照，就會被煩惱所轉，這就是心理上的生死。有很多修行學佛的人，煩惱現前就怨嘆，自以為修行這麼久，又作這麼多的功德，佛菩薩怎麼還不保祐，仍然處處都不如意。要知道，這時候不要嘆息，此時就是消業的時候。所謂「消業」，業障現前才能消，業障不現前就不能消。要想成道、轉識成智，就必須要把心當中的煩惱淘出來。... more

明朝末年，有一位智祥大師，「禪林寶訓筆說」就是智祥大師所著述；其事母至孝，曾任明代武官，明朝亡國之後，即在湖南省紫雲山下建寺，同母親一起出家修行。圓寂的時候，遺書上交代修建石塔，將他的色身放置在石塔中，每隔三十年要開一次塔；圓寂以後，弟子就遵照遺囑，三十年開一次塔，結果發現他的頭髮長垂至地，指甲繞身三匝；所以每隔三十年，弟子就要開塔為其剃髮、剪指甲，到民國時代這件事情都還持續著。民國三十二年時，道安法師任佛國寺住持，預備於三十三年五月開塔，後來因為日軍入侵而作罷，而後大陸... more

生死有二種：一種是身體上的生死，一種是心靈上的生死。色身是地、水、火、風，四大假合而成的，有生就有滅，有成就有壞，身體是會壞掉的。假使證到空性，證到真空的境界，證到四大皆空，就是證到羅漢果，證到我空的境界，此時這念心就可以轉四大，生死就了了。
身體的四大是虛妄不實，當體即空，很多修習禪定的人，禪定功深，色身就不會毀壞，這就是金剛身，金剛身從何而來﹖就是當前這念心達到不動的境界，而且在不動當中還有智慧，心當中的煩惱漏盡，這念心就具足定慧，這念心就是法身。心無生滅，... more

修行就是要能作心的主人，心要有智慧，要看經就看經，要打坐就打坐，要修善就修善，這就是智慧，就是能觀之智，一切都能作主。一般人的心作不了主，如看到綺情的電影廣告想去看，這就是作不了心之主，假使心能作主，剛想買票看電影，正準備買票時，迴光返照，電影是假的，是虛妄不實的，俗諺云：演戲的是瘋子，看戲的是傻子。如是思惟，即是作心之主，有這種功夫，就能轉凡成聖、轉識成智。
