Seedy Business

There's nothing cozier than curling up with a seed catalog and dreaming about next year's garden. Seedy Business is a relaxing, pathologically low-stakes chat between Allison, a biologist, and Roman, just some guy, about garden seeds and how they are marketed. Listen as we struggle in vain to suppress our natural inclinations toward vocal leftism and recreational vulgarity to deliver a soothing se... more

  • So happy they’re back

I wasn’t sure if I had seen it correctly but they are back. This is one of my favorite podcasts. It lets me dream about the garden I can’t have right now while listening to lovely banter.

  • Wonderful

Redownloaded the app just to leave this review. A lovely podcast that got me back into gardening. I had forgotten how much variety exists in the world of edible plants! Thank you Allison and Roman.

  • It’s just so delightful

It’s such a wonderful show, it brings me so much joy. Sometimes you just have to turn off everything else and think about gardens and seeds and veggies for a while and this show is perfect for it.

Allison and Roman are the perfect hosts, they bring a very gentle energy to the podcast while still making it a very entertaining and often funny listen.

Like a good soup, it is extremely restoring, I can’t recommend it enough.

You should listen to it right now

  • Great low-stakes listening

These two provide a great break from heavy conversation. The show is quirky, the banter is personable and friendly, and the seed descriptions are just what a person might want for background noise while doing something that requires slight though but you also want a little human “interaction”

  • As Advertised

I stumbled upon this podcasts somehow, and decided to give it a listen after reading the description of “pathologically low-stakes conversation.” Selected the most recent episode and the first sentence — no intro music, no introductions, no warm up — was about how no products in this world are created without slave labor. Decided not to make that my first episode and have found the pod is, indeed, as advertised: low stakes, very entertaining.
