  • Search for meaning

    This is a great podcast

I’ve been searching for ways to reconnect to my Jewish identity. This adds another way to do that as I navigate my whiteness and Jewishness with my passion for social justice.

I came upon this podcast on accident in a search for some nostalgia for my high school/ college GHC summer camp years.

I had no idea the focus would be on racial and social justice. it’s so important to listen to. I needed this.

Search for Meaning with Professor Michal Bar-Asher Siegal
Q: When did your interest in the connection between early Christianity and rabbinic Judaism begin, and how did your personal journey shape your scholarship?
Her interest began with personal academic risk-taking as a female scholar in Israel, pursuing Talmud and then branching into non-Jewish contexts like early Christianity, which gradually informed her comparative approach.
Search for Meaning with Cantor Lauren Blasband-Roth
Q: Tell me a little bit about your Jewish upbringing and what led you toward a life in Jewish education and cantorial work.
Cantor Lauren describes growing up in Brooklyn with a strong music and synagogue background, attending a conservative-leaning Jewish day school, and being drawn to cantorial singing and education, which eventually steered her toward cantorial school and a career centered on teaching and liturgy.
Search for Meaning with Marc Kasowitz
Q: So tell us a little bit about what motivated you to get involved in that way as a Jew, as an attorney?
The motivation stemmed from witnessing and hearing about harassment and threats against Jewish students after October 7, and recognizing that private OCR settlements were often insufficient; public, powerful litigation could compel real change and protection for students.
Search for Meaning with Rabbis Ed Feinstein and David Woznica (Part II)
Q: Seeing these images unfolding in places like Minnesota, how should we be responding as Jews?
Respond with love for the stranger, grounded in tradition, while acknowledging real policy issues. Emphasize compassion, responsible civic engagement, and constructive, principled critique of authorities, including how to hold institutions accountable without retreating into fear or hatred.
