You really didn’t come down strongly enough on what was a blatant gouging incident there guys. You were right not devote too much of the episode to it, but the time you did was essentially ‘the slow mo makes it look worse’ and ‘maybe it was an accident’. Mann was lucky that in the melee of players he was still able to move his head away. Gouging can blind you in that eye. Thats career ending and lifelong disability

By far the best rugby podcast out there. So much variety - love the warm up and GRO on the other days of the week. Cuthy has really grown into his role too. Keep it up

  • Wales fans don’t doubt

Love the pod. The only thing that frustrates me about Welsh Rugby is the journalism and specifically by Gareth Rhys Owen. He seems to suggest he’s asking the questions the fans want answers to, but is just sensationalising matters that the fans aren’t at all concerned over. Generally we don’t doubt things will turn around, and in the meantime we’re 100% behind the boys and don’t for one second doubt they are giving their all for the jersey. GRO doesn’t speak for us. As I say, my only concern for... more

  • Celebrity chat

There isn’t much rugby discussed on this podcast, if they ever get a break from getting depressed about the politics of the WRU then it’s a cosy chat about the personal lives of former professionals. Anyone hoping to hear about the actual games or the on field developments of the sports is going to be disappointed.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Scrum V Top5: Glenn Webbe
Q: Who is your number one winger and why?
My number one winger is Shane Williams, because of his explosive speed, footwork, balance, and the way he could accelerate and decelerate with precision, making him virtually unplayable at his peak.
Scrum V Top5: Glenn Webbe
Q: What makes a great winger, in your view, Glenn?
A great winger needs appetite for the game, killer instinct, and a willingness to attack the line relentlessly, with the ability to head for the line regardless of risk, while understanding when to stay wide or come in based on the team's structure.
A wet, windy and winless weekend for Wales' regions
Q: What do you think about the state of Welsh rugby right now?
There's a lot of potential in the teams, but they need to improve on basics like set piece and game management.
A wet, windy and winless weekend for Wales' regions
Q: What are the implications of the Scarlets' travel problems for their upcoming match?
The Scarlets are struggling with continuity and need to get games underway, so the cancellation could work against them.
A sit down with WRU Director of Rugby Dave Reddin
Q: Is there a danger with consultation that you really only engage with the engaged?
Reddin acknowledges this concern and emphasizes their efforts to engage a diverse range of voices throughout the process.
