  • Best podcast. Love it

Steph is the go to for ALL things school counseling. Not only does she cover topics thoroughly but she makes them enjoyable! Although I’m retired now, I’m planning on doing some trainings for a local school and this podcast has helped me brush up on my school and school counseling lingo. Now I’ve been binge listening any that are similar to my training topic. When I was still a school counselor this podcasts brought me so much encouragement! Thanks Steph for doing the work it takes to make this... more

  • The Real Talk School Counselors Need

Steph speaks candidly about the realities of our role and tackles the questions many of us still wrestle with, even when it’s uncomfortable. Even when I don’t fully agree, her points are thoughtful, well-supported, and grounded in research. She offers hard truths and ideas for how we can lead more effectively in our work. Definitely worth listening to if you want to reflect and grow as a school counselor.

  • Tragic? More like magic!

I am a former foster mom, now adoptive mom to four children with special needs and a whole lotta trauma. I am also a grad student working towards becoming a school counselor. These podcasts are amazing, and what I heard was called

tragic I’d like to relabel as magic! (And by magic I mean evidence based and well thought out!) These episodes are quick and easy listens that have helped me in both my home life and professional career (I currently work with students with varying needs). I cannot th... more

  • She makes great points!

I listened to this podcast as a way for me to grow myself as a school counselor. She challenges me in almost every episode to make smaller changes in how I work with students. I just finished the episode about not accommodating anxiety, and she did make some great points. I only wish she would have included some accommodations that will decrease anxiety.
