That’s right, it’s that decade where we loved to end the world, the 1980s! Specifically, it is 1985, the year that saw the first book in The Guardians series by Richard Austin published, helpfully named The Guardians. Your two favorite Wasteland sur... more

Rising from the ashes of Save or Die, an intelligent, insightful and frequently funny review of old school games and the modern games inspired by them.
I follow a half-dozen RPG podcasts but just discovered this one, and have already listened to five episodes in three days. I love the mix of personalities and viewpoints, but they don’t overwhelm the listener with inside jokes and idle chit chat that are common in too many podcasts.
Loads of nostalgic fun.
I love the review format and discussion on various games. Especially OSR related products. How about Lamentations of the Flame Princess? Godbound or Stars without Number? Or Old School Essentials (when it ships in October)?
Would be 5 stars if the discussion wasn’t constantly derailed by random bad jokes. But this is likely just personal preference.
It's great to see (hear?) some of the original 'Save Or Die' crew here for a new podcast that takes a look at the wider world of old school gaming, not just D&D! Each episide covers an old school game, I'm really enjoying hear the hosts talk about classics such as FASA Star Trek and Boot Hill. More Please!
