  • BEST ZELDA PODCAST

Yee Howdy as they say over there in Texas!

Sacred realms is one of the best Zelda podcasts you can listen to. The hosts, Lyndon and Matt, always have an amazing time creating this pod, with recurring guests that give great insight into different perspectives on the series. As a fellow Australian I appreciate Cody’s episodes the most.

I started listening since the BOTW season and haven’t stopped since, even re-listening to it when I get the time to.

The way the hosts deep dive into literall... more

  • From Rhode Island with Love

Did you know you can fit approximately 221 Rhode Islands in Texas? Hello from the smallest state in the country to the largest one in the lower 48! During the many hours maintaining a home with a couple kids and a guard dog who defines "bark is worse than her bite", your podcast has been keeping me company for a few years now. So much so, that yours is the first I’ve ever rated (5 Stars, of course). Personal lives aside, your show’s love and analysis of Zelda, brotherly dynamic, whiskey bits, an... more

  • an achievement

what Sacred Realms did with their Totk season is nothing short of podcasting perfection. Plenty of chatter about Zelda out there but this is the only show that’s created an audio adaptation of the story. no shortcuts, it’s like a full audiobook. the only thing that’s disappointing is that afterwards i went into the back catalogue imagining they’d given this deep treatment to every game they’d covered. what a huge creative achievement the most recent season was. i’m now a master sword patron and ... more

  • One of these guys is funny, the other is my brother, and their guests are all stellar

See title! Come for the brotherly banter, stay for guests who are undoubtedly better than the hosts.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Tears of the Kingdom Finale - The Discussion
Q: Do you think the Demon Dragon fight is the strongest final boss moment in Zelda history, and how does it compare to Demise or other finales?
Most of the panel felt this final fight is among the best, with some preferring Demise-era battles; overall, the Demon Dragon sequence is cinematic, intense, and a standout finale, possibly the best non-voiced confrontation in the series.
Tears of the Kingdom Finale - The Discussion
Q: Sam, what did you think about the combat encounter with Ganondorf and the role of the sages in this final area?
Sam felt the late-game sage support was meaningful and appreciated their presence, though she personally overprepared and focused on her own gear and weapon drops, using sages more as a backdrop than a primary tool in the fight.
Tears of the Kingdom Finale - The Discussion
Q: When we talk about Breath of the Wild and the finale of that game, does that stand out in your memory as being a really strong conclusion to Breath of the Wild?
Narrative-wise it wasn't standout for Breath of the Wild, though the final dungeon and some fights were memorable. The Tears of the Kingdom finale was hoped to learn from those shortcomings and deliver a more satisfying ending.
Tears of the Kingdom Chapter 7 - The Discussion
Q: How do you feel about the differences between politics in Hyrule and actual governance?
Cody explained that while there are familiar aspects, it largely depends on local structures which can differ significantly from state to state in Australia and mirror the complexities of Hyrule's various towns.
Tears of the Kingdom Chapter 7 - The Discussion
Q: How was your experience of stepping into a mayoral election?
Cody shared that it was a learning experience, involving a lot of emotional labor and new strategies compared to previous councilor elections.
